About Wesleyan

Aquatics Director Welcome

Welcome to the Wesleyan Aquatics. I trust you will find our website to be helpful and informative.

Wesleyan Aquatics is a division of Wesleyan Education Center. The Aquatics Department offers a variety of programs to Wesleyan Childcare, Wesleyan Christian Academy, and to the public. Our programs range from an array of Red Cross Training Courses, to Learn-To-Swim Lessons for the young, to Water Exercise Classes for the young-at-heart. Wesleyan Aquatics is also home to the Wesleyan Christian Academy Swim Team, which is coming off a very successful 2009-10 season, with the girls' team bringing home the State Champion trophy. Congratulations, ladies!

As Director of Aquatics, I am humbled to be a part of the wonderful Wesleyan Education Center staff. We all are honored to serve the families who entrust their children to us on a daily bases. In aquatics, we have the unique opportunity to serve you, spirit, soul, and body:

  • Spirit – Because we have the “Good News” of the Gospel
  • Soul – Because your mind, your will, and your emotions are all very much engaged when it comes to things relating to the water
  • Body – Because water asks a lot of your body in a very positive and rewarding manner

I have been teaching swimming skills and water confidence to all ages for many years, helping thousands in their journey of becoming water safe. My philosophy of teaching is to engage in a firm but gentle approach: to love people into the joy of swimming and to instill joy and respect for God and His awesome creation of water. I strive to keep low teacher-student ratios to allow our students to receive individual attention while benefiting from small, organized group sessions.

Wesleyan Aquatics works in concert with the schedules of Wesleyan Christian Childcare and Wesleyan Christian Academy. Swimming is a part of the Elementary Physical Education classes, and the Learn-To-Swim program is always one of many exciting offerings of the Wesleyan Childcare summer program. During the school year, we are looking to explore even more swim opportunities. So, consider your aquatic needs, check your schedule, and check our website for upcoming classes, courses, programs, and events! You never know, the next offering may be a perfect fit for you or a member of your family!

The Lord tells us in His Word: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men” (Colossian 3:23). This scripture transforms work into ministry; it gives true purpose to every day of life, regardless of what the “work” may be. Please know that as the Aquatics Department endeavors to serve you and your family these words of wisdom from our Lord are in the forefront of our hearts and minds. Give us the opportunity to live out that truth while helping you and your family reach your goals. Come enjoy the journey!
