Phones can be delivered to the academy office.

•   Wesleyan has posted several new employment positions for the following: Media Specialist, Elementary School Latin Teacher, and a Part Time High School Guidance Counselor.  We also have openings in the technology department for an I.T. Manager, Instructional Technology Specialist, Webmaster/Social Media, and Upper School Computer Technology Teacher. Additionally, Wesleyan Aquatics is looking for part-time lifeguards, swim instructors and swim instructor assistants for year-round. •   Congratulations to the Varsity Wrestling Team who finished 4th as a team in this past weekend's state tourna-ment.  Congratulations also goes to Sam Pruett and Ryan Petty who were state champions in their weight category along with seven other WCA wrestlers who placed.  Sam and Ryan will be at Prep Nationals this weekend in Pennsylvania. Great work Trojans!

Trojan Club

•   The Trojan Club would like to thank all of the parents, teachers and students who helped to make our "Think Pink" day a huge success.  For the second year in a row, Wesleyan will be sending the Kay Yow Foundation a check for over $3,200.  We certainly could not have done this without the wonderful support from all of you!

ANNUAL THINK PINK BASKETBALL GAME - 1/27/14 vs. Calvary Baptist at Wesleyan - This will include:

•   A bake sale on the day of the event - If you would like to help, we need bake sale items donated.  Please take your individually wrapped items to the cafeteria in the morning.

•   All funds raised during this event will directly benefit the Kay Yow Foundation.  Last year we raised $3,200. If you would like to make a donation to the foundation, you can do this at the door.

•   Think Pink t-shirts will be sold at school throughout the week of this event during lunch.  Cost is $10.

• Tomorrow, January 6, Re-Enrollment for the 2015-16 school year begins for all current academy students. This is a limited occasion for current parents to secure next year's enrollment for their children before enrollment is opened to the community.  Online enrollment can be accessed on the school website (click here for the re-enroll page). You will need your current NetClassroom ID number and password. This is the same number and password that you use to check your student's grades.  Please contact the academy office if you have any questions.  In regards to siblings wishing to enroll, parents should complete the online admissions application and return it to the academy office.  Re-enrollment will be open January 6-21, 2015.

• BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION: Thanks to all who sent in box tops this year! By participating in Box Tops for Education, our school earned $4,046.56 this year and has lifetime earnings of $21,309 with the program.  Mrs. Burchette's first grade class collected the most box tops in the Elementary School.  Mrs. Kohn's class collected the most in the Middle School.  Both teachers received a $20 Target gift card for having the winning class!

HPYV is a new opportunity for students of WCA and the surrounding community to participate in a dynamic, age-appropriate choral ensemble. HPYV will consist of three ensembles Melodia (6-7 yrs,), Lyrica (8-11 yrs.), and Cantate (12-18 yrs.) each under the direction of Mrs. Carolyn Hall. • Congratulations to Bradley Davis (12th grade) and Sam Pruett (11th grade) for winning their second state championship at the NCISAA State Wrestling Tournament that was held at Wesleyan on February 14 and 15.  Ryan Petty (11th grade) finished second place, Storm Glautier (12th grade) third, and Chase Holyfield (11th grade) fourth.  The team finished third in the tournament.  
  
  
• Thursday-Saturday, February 27-28 and March 1, the Fine Arts Department will present this year's musical, Seussical. • Congratulations to the wrestling team for winning the PACIS Conference this past Thursday, February 6.  Eleven wrest-lers made all conference: Bradley Davis, Japheth Hampton, Sam Slyman, Reed Kirsch, Ryan Petty, Ethan Cochran, Sam Pruett, Chase Holyfield, Josh Bailey, Storm Glautier, and Spencer Kearns. Sam Pruett won Most Outstanding Wrestler.  Sam and Bradley Davis look to repeat as State Champions this week in the State Tournament hosted by Wesleyan.

• THANK YOU to everyone who sent in Box Tops in the fall.  We collected, trimmed, and counted 10,850 box tops and 1,165 bonus box top certificates for a total of $1,201.60.  Our next collection deadline is today, February 10.  Please elp us by trimming and checking the expiration date on the box tops before you send them in to your child's homeroom teacher.  If you have any questions or would like to help with collecting and counting, please contact Kristi Jent at jent5@triad.rr.com.  
  
• The concession stand which is open during many of the athletic events, now has the ability to accept credit cards (VISA, MasterCard, American Exprerss and Discover) with a minimum $5 purchase.

• Today, February 3, is the last day that the Enrichment Center is collecting supplies for the La Luz de Cristo Ministries in Nicaragua.  If you would like to contribute to this project, you can take your items to the Enrichment Center and place them in the box located in the hallway outside of Becky Owens' office.  To see a list of items needed, please click here.
   
• Imago Dei Soccer Academy - This academy will provide individual soccer technique & agility training for competitive soccer players and goalkeepers. The purpose of Imago Dei is to encourage participants, "made in the Image of God", to utilize their gifts, talents, and abilities - specifically in the game of soccer - to glorify God.  Training sessions are held on Mon-days from 3-4 p.m. (grades 1-4), 4-5 p.m. (grades 5-8), and 5-6 p.m. (grades 9-12) on the soccer field at WCA. • Thanks to everyone who brought in items or purchased food at the THINK PINK bake sale last week.  It was a great suc-cess!  We were able to raise $1,830 for the Kay Yow Breast Cancer Foundation.
   
• The 5th grades will be holding their annual Missions project Bake Sale on Wednesday, February 5.  Please come and support them as they are raising money for one of our own who is going to Nicaragua in February.  Most items will be 50 cents or $1. There will be whole cakes and pies available for purchase.  There will also be a raffle for "Cookie Lee" jewelry. The sale will take place in the 5th grade hallway starting at 8 a.m.  Donations will also be accepted!
